    VoiFi MESSENGER INFORMATION:


    • How do I download the VoiFi Client or Software?

      To download the VoiFi Client or Software, please follow the steps given below:

      a) Please click on the link: http://www.voifi.com

      b) Now click on the ‘Download’ option that you see on the top menu.



      c) After clicking on the link entitled "Click here." on the download page, your computer might ask you how you want to manage the download. If so, it is recommended to choose either "Run this program from its current location" or "Open". Do not save the file to disk, the Installation Wizard will not run automatically if you do. If you do choose to save the file to disk, select a location easy to find (such as your Desktop) and note the File Location.

      d) Once the software is downloaded you will see the VoiFi Icon that looks like a “V” on your system tray.

    • How do I change my status?

      Please do the following to change your status:
      a) From your VoiFi client, please click on the File menu.

      b) From the File menu, click on My Status.

      c) You can choose your status from the list provided.



      Alternatively, you can also set your status from the VoiFi window as shown below:

    • How do I change the sound when I Login?

      To change the sound when you login, please do the following:
      a) From your VoiFi client, please click on the File menu.

      b) From the File menu, click on Preferences.



      c) From the Sound Effects box, click on the button located next to ‘Login Sound’.

      d)A dialog box will open and you can choose a .wav file of your liking from your computer.

      e)Once the file location comes in the file path box, click Ok.

      f) To play the file click on the button (Play button).

    • How do I change the sound when I Logout?

      To change the sound when you logout, please do the following:
      a) From your VoiFi client, please click on the File menu.

      b) From the File menu, click on Preferences.



      c) From the Sound Effects box click on the button located next to ‘Logout Sound’.

      d) A dialog box will open and you can choose a .wav file of your liking from your computer.

      e) Once the file location comes in the file path box, click Ok.

      f) To play the file click on the button (Play button).

      To change the sound when a user goes offline, please do the following:
      a) From your VoiFi client, please click on the File menu.

      b) From the File menu, click on Preferences.

      d) A dialog box will open and you can choose a .wav file of your liking from your computer.

      e) Once the file location comes in the file path box, click Ok.

      f) To play the file click on the button (Play button).

      To change the sound when a user comes online, please do the following:

      a) From your VoiFi client, please click on the File menu.

      b) From the File menu, click on Preferences.



      c) From the Sound Effects box, click on the button located next to ‘Offline to Online Sound’.

      d) A dialog box will open and you can choose a .wav file of your liking from your computer.

      e) Once the file location comes in the file path box, click Ok.

      f) To play the file click on the button (Play button).

    • I do not want to hear any sound when I or my contacts login and logout.

      Please do the following if you do not want to hear any sound when you or your contacts login and logout.
      a) From your VoiFi client, please click on the File menu.

      b) From the File menu, click on Preferences.

         

      c) From the Sound Effects box, check the ‘Mute All’ box and click Ok.

    • How do I download a different Ring Tone for my incoming calls?

      To download a different Ring Tone for your incoming calls, please do the following:
      a) From your VoiFi client, please click on the File menu.

      b) From the File menu, click on Preferences.



      c) Click on Call Settings option and from the Call Settings box, click on the button located next to ‘Ring Tone’.

      d) A dialog box will open and you can choose a .wav file of your liking from your computer.

      e) Once the file location comes in the file path box, click Ok.

      f) To play the file click on the button (Play button).

    • How do I adjust the volume of my calls?

      a) From your VoiFi client, please click on the File menu.

      b) From the File menu, click on Preferences.



      c) Click on Call Settings option and from the Call Settings box adjust the Master Volume, Wave Volume or the Microphone Volume as per your preference and click Ok.

    • What is the purpose of the ‘Appearance’ option under ‘Preferences’ in the File menu?

      The ‘Appearance’ feature is used for setting colors for a particular status of your ‘Contacts’. The color change will reflect on the names of your contacts in your VoiFi window and accordingly you can determine whether they are online, busy or offline.

      For example, if you change the color of ‘online’ status to red, all the names of your contacts that are online will be displayed in red in your VoiFi window. The same thing applies to contacts that are offline or busy.

      You can also change the Background of your VoiFi window.

    • How can I Login automatically?

      To Login automatically, please do the following:
      a) From your VoiFi client, please click on the File menu.

      b) From the File menu, click on Preferences.



      c) Click on the ‘Miscellaneous Setting’ option.

      d) Check the ‘Auto Login’ box.



      e) If you do not want to login automatically, just uncheck the ‘Auto Login’ box.

    PROFILE:


    • How can I change my Nick Name, First Name, Last Name and other info?

      To change your Profile data, please do the following:
      a) From your VoiFi client, please click on the File menu.

      b) From the File menu, click on Modify Profile.



      c) Edit the information that you want and click on the Save button.

    • How do I select/change my Avatar?

      To select/change your Avatar, please do the following:
      a) From your VoiFi client, please click on the File menu.

      b) From the File menu, click on Modify Profile.



      c) Click on the ‘Select a New Avatar’ button. (Circled below)



      d) A dialog box will open and you can choose a picture file of your liking from your computer and click on the Save button. Your avatar will now appear on the VoiFi window. (Circled below)

    CONTACTS:

    • How do I add a Buddy or a Contact?

      Please do the following to add a contact:
      a) From your VoiFi client, please click on ‘Contacts’.

      b) Click ‘Add Contacts’

      or Click on "Add" button

      A new box will open as shown below:



      c) Enter the email address of the contact you want to add and click ‘Next’.

      d) The Email address and the Nickname will be displayed in another window as shown below. Select the email address and click ‘Next’. A new window will open with the details of the new contact where you will have to click the ‘Finish’ button.



      Once you click the ‘Finish’ button, the person whom you are trying to add will receive the following screen on his computer:



      Once he clicks the ‘Accept’ button the contact will be added on your VoiFi screen.

    • How do I delete a Buddy or a Contact?

      To delete a contact, please do the following:
      a) From your VoiFi window, please click on the Buddy that you want to delete.

      b) Click on the ‘Contacts’ option from the menu bar and click ‘Delete Contact’.

      OR right click on the user name as shown here and "Delete"

      c) A small box will open asking you to confirm the deletion. Click ‘Yes’ to delete the Contact.

    • How do I view the profiles of my Contacts?

      Please do the following to view the profiles of your Contacts:
      a) From your VoiFi window, please click on the Buddy whose profile you want to view.

      b) Click on the ‘Contacts’ option from the menu bar and click ‘View Profile’.



      A window of the concerned user will be opened giving you the details of his profile.

    GROUPS:

    • How do I create a new Group?

      To create a new Group, please do the following:
      a) From the VoiFi client, click on the ‘Contacts’ option from the menu bar and click ‘Add Group’.



      b) A new window will open. Type in your Group name and click ‘Add Group’.



      The new Group will now be added in the VoiFi window.

    • How do I Rename a Group?

      Please do the following to Rename a Group:
      a) Right click on the Group that you want to Rename and click ‘Rename Group’.

      b) A small box will appear. Please type in the new name of your Group and click Ok. The new name of your Group will be displayed in the new window.

    • How do I Delete a Group

      Please do the following to Delete a Group:
      a) Right click on the Group that you want to Delete and click ‘Delete Group’.



      b) A small box will appear asking for confirmation. Click on Yes to delete the group.

    CALL:

    • How do I call a contact?

      a) From your VoiFi window, please select the person or buddy that you want to call and click on the ‘Call’ option from the menu bar. Alternatively, you can double click on the contact name located in your VoiFi window.



      b) Click on the ‘Call Contact’ option. VoiFi will immediately try to connect to your buddy and a window will open informing you about the connection status.



      c) Once the connection has been established, you can speak to your Buddy. Also, you can record the conversation by pressing the ‘Record’ button that will be activated once the connection has been established
    If your contact declines or is not on desk then you get the pop-up window as shown below. You can leave a voicemail.

    • Can I view the history of the calls that I have missed or received?

      Yes, you can view the history of the calls that you have missed or received.

      Please do the following to view the call history:
      a) In your VoiFi window, please click on the ‘View Call History’ option from the ‘Call’ Menu.



      b) A new window will open giving you the details about the ‘Type of call’, ‘Caller’ and ‘Date and Time of the call’.

    TEXT AND VOICE MESSAGES:

    • How do I send a text message?

      Please follow the steps given below to send Text messages to your online contacts:
      a) Open the VoiFi Client / Software.

      b) Click on the name of your contact to which you would like to send a message.

      c) Now click on the “Messages” tab and go to ‘Send Text Message’



      d) Once you click on the “Send Text Message” you will get a window as shown below:



      e) Now you can start sending text messages / chat with your contacts who are online. If your contacts are offline, then too you can send them the messages. Once they log in, they will receive the messages.

      Alternatively, you can also change the settings from the Chat window.

      To do so:
      a) Open the chat window and click on Setting -> Display Options.


      b) Check the required preferences and click Ok.

    • How do I Invite a Contact for a conference?

      To invite a Contact for conference, you need to follow the steps given below:
      a) Start your VoiFi Client

      b) Click on the contact that you would like to invite. Now click on the “M-Chat” icon that you see on your VoiFi Client. (Circled below)



      c) Once you invite, a Chat Window will pop up.



      d) Now you need to click on the ‘Invite’ button. A small ‘Choose’ box will open asking you to choose the contact that you want to invite to your chat. After you choose, click Ok.



      e) The newly invited Contact will now be added to your Chat and you can start the conference now.

    • Can I save my chat conversations?

      Yes, you can save your chat conversations.



      To do so, please follow the steps given below:
      a) Click on ‘Messages’ tab from the menu bar and select ‘Message Archive’.

      b) A window will open with the chat logs of different users. Click on any one and you will see your conversation with that particular Contact.

      c) Please make sure that the ‘Enable Archive’ option is checked.

    • How do I leave Voicemail (offline or online) to my contacts?

      To leave a Voice Mail to your contacts, please follow the steps given below:
      a) Open your VoiFi Client and connect to your account

      b) Once logged in, please click on the name of the person for whom you wish to leave Voice Mail. Now click on the ‘Messages’ tab and click on ‘Leave Voice Mail’.



      Alternatively, you can right click on a contact and select ‘Leave Voicemail’.

      c) You will get a new box asking you to click on the ‘Record’ button to record your message.



      d) Once you finish recording please click the ‘Stop’ button and click the ‘Send’ button, which will be activated once you click the ‘Stop’ button.



      e) Once you click ‘Send’ you will see a small transfer window sending your voice message and then once the transfer is complete you will get a message “Voicemail message successfully uploaded. Click “OK” to close the window.



      f) When your contacts that are offline, log on their VoiFi account, they will be notified that they have a “Voicemail message”. Contacts who are online will be notified immediately of the new voicemail message.

    • How do I check my Voicemail Messages?

      Once you go online, you will be notified at the bottom of the VoiFi window that you have a voicemail. To check voicemail that you have received on your VoiFi account you need to follow the steps given below:
      a) Start your VoiFi client / Software

      b) Now your need to go to ‘Messages’ tab and click on ‘Check Voicemail’, as shown in the figure below.



      c) Once you click on ‘Check Voicemail’, you will get the ‘My Voicemail’ window that will show you the voicemail messages that have been left by your Contacts.



      d) You need to click on the ‘Download’ button. Once the message downloads, you can listen to your voice message either by double clicking on the message or selecting the message and clicking on the button.

      * You need to have either headphones or speakers to listen to the voice messages that your contacts have recorded.

    • How do I send a file to my contact?

      Please follow the steps given below to send a file to your to contact:
      a) Select the user to which you want to send a file.

      b) Click on ‘Messages’ from the menu bar and select ‘Send a File’.



      c) The ‘Send file’ window will open. Select the file you want to send and click on the ‘Send’ button.



      d) Once the file is sent, you will get the ‘Transfer completed!’ message. Your contact will be prompted to accept the file and if he accepts, the file will be stored on his computer.

    GAMES:

    • What Games are available on VoiFi Messenger? How do I play those with my contact?

      Currently VoiFi offers you Tic-Tac-Toe, Snakes and Ladders, War Zone and Teen Patti. To play a game with your contact, you need to do the following:
      a) Select a contact with which you wish to play a game.

      b) Click on the Games Icon from your VoiFi window. (Circled below). Alternatively, you can right click on the contact with which you wish to play a game and select ‘Play Games’ from the list displayed.



      c) The chat window will open now. From the chat window click on the Games option located on the chat window. The list of games will be displayed.



      d) Click on any one game and the following message will be displayed in your chat window.



      Once your contact accepts the invite, you will get the message that he/she has accepted the invite and you can start playing the Game right away as shown below.

    • I do not know the rules to play the games on VoiFi. Can you give me any information?

      To know the rules of the games that you can play on VoiFi, please do the following:

      a) Open the chat window and click on ‘Help’ and select ‘Game Rule’.



      b) The ‘Rules for Game’ box will open. Select any Game, read the rules and go ahead and enjoy your game!

    • Can I record the scores and results of the Games played?

      Yes, you can record the scores and results of the Games played. To do so, please click on the Dices icon located on your chat window. (Circled below).



      The scores and the winner of each game will be displayed in the ‘Games Archive’ box.

    Miscellaneous:
    • Can I change the background of my chat window?

      Yes, you can change the background of your chat window. Please follow the steps given below:
      a) Open your chat window.

      b) In the chat window please click on the down arrow located to the left of the Games option. You will find the various options to change your chat window background.



      c) Just click on one of the options and the background will change.

    • I do not want the Font Size and type and the text color to be displayed on the chat window. What should I do?

      If you do not want the Font Size and type and the text color to be displayed on the chat window, please do the following:
      a) Click on the icon located on your chat window.

      b) The Font and the Text color bar will disappear from your chat window. If you want it on your chat window, just click the icon again.

    • I am getting "MSXML" error while installing VoiFi, what do I do now?

      If you are getting an MSXML not installed messages, we request you to please click on the button given below:



      Once you click on this above button, you will be asked to Save / Run or Open. You can either save the file on your desktop and once downloaded double-click on it or Run or Open to start installation.
      Now you can download the VoiFi Client. You will no longer get the MSXML Error message.
    • Why am I getting the error "Message cannot be delivered"?

      This message comes if MSXML is not installed on your computer. Once you install MSXML the error will no longer occur.

    • I am getting an error "Server not responding", what do I need to do?

      This happens if the network is slow or the authentication reply from the server is lost.
